CATHY ROWLEY (Owner/Director)

CATHY ROWLEY began the studio 21 years ago. The first classes were held in her garage. The studio has grown from its humble beginnings to the mega performing arts center it is today. Cathy has performed and toured throughout the Southwest and Hawaiian Islands. She danced at Knott's Berry Farm and Disneyland on her winter and summer breaks from college. She has modeled and done commercials for Catalina Swimwear, Pledge, and Carpets to Go, along with choreographing for Jungle Rags Children's Clothing. Cathy has taught for Christian Youth Theatre and has been involved with the city of Temecula dance program for over 15 years. Cathy feels privileged to have a successful studio in an area where parents sincerely care about their children.

RACHEL SWINSON (Ballet Director)

Rachel received her training at Inland Dance Academy, American Ballet Theatre and San Francisco Ballet School. She has danced in the Nutcracker, Coppelia, Sleeping Beauty, Paquita and Cinderella performing lead roles such as Sugar Plum Fairy, Snow Queen, Aurora and Cinderella. Rachel performed as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet in spring 2007 and performs as a soloist dancer with the Crystal Cathedral in the Glory of Easter and Glory of Christmas. Rachel has been choreographing for shows for over seven years. Some of her work includes; Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, Moulin Rouge, Grease, Chicago , Cinderella and this year's production of Firebird. Rachel has developed the Temecula Valley Ballet Academywhere she will be setting even high standards of training for her staff and students.

HEATHER PAGE (Team Director)

Heather has been dancing for ten years at Cathy's Dance. In her ten years of dancing, she has danced and performed on many school and studio teams including star teams here at TVCD. She has advanced training from various studios in jazz, lyrical and ballet. In addition, Heather has been one of two assistant directors for the X-O Thermix Dance Team for five years and has been teaching at local schools for seven years where she has choreographed many regional, state and national championship winning routines. Her routines have won numerous platinum and high score awards.

WILLIE MAY (Theater Director)

Willie May had been performing all his life. He realized he had a passion for the arts when he attend CYT at a young age. Willie May has shown his talents in various entertainment venues such as: Big River & Suessical the Musical Moonlight Stage, Sequins the Musical (World Premier) Performance Riverside, Sideshow 3-D Theatricals, To Kill A Mockingbird & RENT the Musical TVP. TV/Film: CSI Miami, Without a Trace, American Dreams, Bernie Mac, Malcolm in the Middle, Joan of Arcadia & Tears of the Sun to name a few. May specialize in Theater Arts, Entertainment Business Management and Marketing. His goal is to help produce a successful Performing Arts School. Philippians 4:13

BROOKE MORRIS HOPKINS

Brooke has been teaching tap & jazz all over San DiegoCounty and Temecula for ten years. Brooke has been involved with musical theater since the age of 8, and has acted in over twenty live theater productions, and enjoys being on stage. She has competed in tap since the age of 9 and has won several National Championships, both as a soloist and as a duet with her favorite dance partner Richard Jennings. Brooke would like to thank her biggest supporter, her family for all they have done for her.

JULIE HODGE

Julie has been dancing for 24 years, including ballet and Pointe training with Ballet Pacifica. She has participated in workshops with New York City Dance Alliance, LA Dance Force and the Jazz World Congress. Julie went to PalomarCollege for 4 years and participated in the dance program. During her last year there Julie was awarded "Dancer of the Year". Julie has also got the chance to perform as the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker. Julie has been teaching at TVCD for 12 years, and enjoys working with the kids.

BRITTANY LEGER

Brittany began dancing at the young age of three and began competing in national and regional competitions at the age of four. She has taken classes from several widely known choreographers such as Zandra Thomas, Mandy and Terri Schulke, Missy Zimmer , Andrew Hubbard, and Gina Starbuck. Brittany is best known for her choreography in five different states and has received numerous choreography awards at dance competitions. Dance is and always will be Brittanys passion, and there is nothing that she enjoys more than to do what she loves every day, and to be able to teach others whats truly in her heart.

Justin Duke

Justin Duke, from a young age, has been fully invested in the arts of singing, acting and dancing. He started out with The Chrisitan Youth Theather here in the Temecula Valley at the age of 8. He starred in numerous shows with leading roles, such as, Mowgli in the Jungle Book. He began training at Temecula Dance Company at the age of 12 under the direction of Jimmy Peters. Justin danced competitively winning numerous titles regionally and nationally. He has also been an assistant choreographer/teacher for studios in Las Vegas and Baltimore. Before graduation, Justin was a Music Center Spotlight Award finalist, where he performed at the Ahmanson Theater. Upon graduation, Justin went to work for Tokyo Disneyland where he was a lead dancer in a live stage show. Currently, he is fully invested in choreography/teaching at TVCD. When Justin is not teaching dance, he is in the recording studio writing music and creating his first full length album.

KELLEY ROSE MUND

Kelly has been dancing for nineteen years. She has been teaching at Cathy's Dance for the past seven years. Kelley has performed as a dancer in the Calico Country Jubilee' at Knott's Berry Farm, and has won numerous platinum awards in her competitive history. Her choreography has been applauded with many high score and top overall awards. Kelley has been enjoying choreographing for numerous musicals in the community. Some of her credits include: Alice in Wonderland (City of Temecula 2009), Willy Wonka Jr. (Vail Ranch Middle School 2008), Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs (Christian Youth Theatre 2007), and Show Choir (Margarita Middle School 2006). Kelly is currently working with the Colorado Ballet.

GREGG PAGE

Greg reads, writes and performs with equal faculty on wood winds, strings, drums, mallets and keyboards. In the 6th grade he was awarded the National Scholastic Soloist Championship on alto saxophone playing "Harlem Nocturne." He was recruited while serving in the military to play various instruments in performance ensembles representing the United States Military services. He has written and recorded music for use in films and commercials and his music was used in the marketing of Sony Playstation games and in Disney theme parks. He currently teaches and performs in a progressive instrumental fusion group.

TVCD School of Performing Arts is an arts school that caters to all young aspiring artists that yearn to grow in the arts. With a studio size of over 7500 square feet, it is the largest performing arts school in the Inland Empire. The music department offers instruction in piano, voice, classical guitar, electric guitar, percussion and so much more. Lessons are held in private and group studios with state of the art equipment. What makes our music department so unique are the performance outlets offered to the private student? There are many recitals, festivals and ensembles that the student can participate in to enhance the weekly lesson.VOICE CLASSES:NEW VOICE5-8 yearsHey, lets get together and have a real good time singing and swingin with Disney, Broadway tunes and more. Youll even learn the ABCs and Do-Re-Mis of music.....nothin could be greater! Dont miss out! Come join the fun and see what the fuss is all about!ELEMENTARY CLASS VOICEGrade 3 - 5Students explore age-appropriate breathing and vocal techniques through a variety of vocal repertoire, while learning music theory, music reading and sight singing. They will experience how to perform for an audition and for general audiences through in-class performances. The fruits of their labor will culminate in an end of the semester vocal demonstration!MIDDEL SCHOOL VOCAL TECHNIQUEGrade 6 - 8Students learn focus, breathing, appropriate vocal technique, musical expression, care of the voice, sight singing and theory. Classes will include solo and ensemble performance experience as well as preparation of appropriate audition pieces.TVCD GLEE & SHOWCHIORGrades 8-12This high energy, fast paced choir will knock your socks off with fun! Students will learn proper breathing, posture, and vocal technique as well as choreography designed for show choirs. The group's repertoire includes contemporary, Broadway and pop songs, as well as traditional choral pieces. Members receive one hour of vocal rehearsal and one hour of dance/choreography class per week in working to produce their original showcase. This ensemble takes part in public performances at holiday time, spring and summer, and at various community events.Members are required to attend all rehearsals and performances. Students who cannot make such a commitment need not to audition. *Students must bring a three ring binder, paper, and pencil to the first class.*All Voice Camps, Private lessons, Workshops and Team Competitions please call for requirements. INSTRUMENTAL CLASSES:Guitar 1 & 2Class Guitar is offered to students with little or no previous experience. Small group classes include fundamentals of the instrument, theory, ear training and ensemble playing. Mini MozartsAn introduction to the piano through singing, rhythm, movement, listening and playing songs; Young students enjoy making music and participating in age appropriate group activities. Students interested in starting Mini Mozarts require a readiness interview.Beginning BeethovenThis class for beginning students offers a firm foundation in the fundamentals of piano playing. In addition to music-reading and keyboard skills, classes include music theory and ear-training games, improvisation exercises, and ensemble playing. Music TheoryBeginning Music Theory For SongwritersAn introduction to the tools any musician needs to write music. Topics covered will include chord structure, melodic and rhythmic ideas, chord progressions, keys and key changes. Time will also be spent listening to different styles of music and a brief history of musical trends will be covered. This course is a great way for any young musician to learn the basics of songwriting! Individual Music InstructionIndividual instruction is offered in the instruments listed below. Weekly thirty, forty-five and sixty minute lessons are available. New students should call the school for teacher availability and times. In addition to the weekly private lesson, TVCD School of Performing Arts offers a number of performing opportunities throughout the school year to enhance the weekly private lesson.Student can participate in events such as holiday, competitions and recitals. TVCD is proud to present Doubtless GenerationDoubtless Generation a new and up coming band, founded by Jake Cabrera and under management by Greg Page.TVCD is excited to have help birth this band by providing an creative environment for them. Doubtless Generation is made up of four talented musicians; Singer- Shannon Rowley, Guitarist- Jake Cabrera, Bassist- Greg Boulet, and Drummer- Dawson Martin.This Temecula based band has performed in various battles of the bands and band wars, and strive to get their name and music out. The Theater Department offers superior instruction for the beginning student, intermediate and professional level student. The Theater Department offers classes in various styles and focuses. Students can look forward to testing out their techniques in fully staged non-musicals and musical productions.BROADWAY BABIESAges 3-5Your little Star will shine each week learning spectacular songs and show-stopping moves from Broadway favorites like Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, The Lion King, Annie, Sound of Music and more!BROADWAY MINI STUDIOGrades K - 2Boogie your way down Broadway in this class which focuses on the skill and artistry of singing, dancing, and acting... musical theater! A small cabaret studio performance will be our final presentation.Broadway Studio I, Grades 3 - 5Broadway Studio II, Grades 6 - 8Have a blast rehearsing an original musical revue while perfecting your musical theater skills. This studio class will allow the student to learn all aspects of musical theater while focusing on a final performance at the end of the semester!Musical TheaterGrades 9-12This one-year course is designed to provide a guided workshop for students to practice and polish musical theater audition and performance skills. A study of the musical theater form, history and styles will be included as well as many opportunities for students to familiarize themselves with major figures in musical theater. The workshop will require the students' self- discipline and ability to set and reach individual goals. Students will be required to give individual and ensemble performances on a regular basis. Beginning ActingGrade 3-7It's Show Time! This workshop will help students gain confidence and grow as a young artist. They will receive the skills necessary to follow stage directions, articulate clearly, listen and react in the moment and create a character and an ensemble. Advanced Acting TechniqueGrade 8 - 12This class will focus on character development through monologue and scene study work. Using different movement and vocal styles, actors will learn to connect their emotional and physical instruments. New material will always make this class appropriate for repeat students.TVCD IMPROVISATION I Level I, Grades 5-8Students dive into the art of acting, while using creative drama and fundamental staging techniques to perform Improvisational works- truly working and learning "in the moment". The styles learned in this impulse generated class are at the core of basic acting. This growing process will always make this class appropriate for repeat students. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Drama. TVCD IMPROVISATION IILevel II, Grades 8-12Students will learn to play "in the moment" using Chicago's Second City Improv style. This ensemble will work spontaneously to discover the life of the scene, while improving listening and awareness skills. This growing process will always make this class appropriate for repeat students. Prerequisite: Successful completion of Drama. TV/FILM TECHNIQUESActing for the CameraGrades 4-12This screen acting class is designed for students with an interest in film and commercial work, which is quite different from the stage. Working both on and off camera we will learn the skills of on-camera acting technique. Actors will learn about the TV/film industry, how to read copy, find your camera angles, hit your mark, how to slate, audition and book those gigs! Temecula Valley Ballet Academy will be performing “The Nutcracker Ballet” for Winter 2011. We will be holding an open audition all ballet levels. Ballet Students must have 1 year of ballet training Audition- August 27th 2011 2:15-2:45 ages 4-6 2:45-3:15 ages 7-9 & Ballet 1, 2, 2A 3:15-4:00 Ballet 3,4,5 4:00-5:00 Ballet 6/7

This Ballet program focuses on consistent ballet technique for all dancers. T.V.B.A. encourages our students to strive to be their very best and to receive excellent technical instruction to enable each dancer to realize their full potential. Our goal is to apply the knowledge and discipline of Ballet to each dancer. With seasons scheduled classes; each level will be offered ballet technique, Pointe and pre-Pointe more consistently to ensure a strong ballet program as well as a strong studio.

COMPETITION TEAMSTVCD Competition Teams are groups of dancers who learn routines, which they showcase competitively throughout southern California. Competition Teams are intended for the more serious dancer, as they require more technique classes to keep each dancer at their best possible technical level. Competition Teams are a great experience, but they do require a lot of commitment. PERFORMANCE COMPANYThe TVCD Performance Company is a dance group that will bring together different levels of dancers and perform in a fun, non competitive venue. All dancers in the company will get the opportunity to perform at local events, as well as various amusement parks in Southern California. Dancers will learn short tap, jazz and lyrical routines, which will be combined into one long routine.Qualifications:* TVCD Performance Company is by invitation only.* You must be enrolled in at least one technique class at TVCD.* Auditions are annually. If interested in auditions please visit us or call and speak with our front-end staff.

RATES AND POLICIES

CLASS FEES45 minute/1 hour classes $48.00 per month.Any additional classes or immediate family sign ups (siblings or parents) $35.00 per month.1.5 hour classes $55.00 per month.Unlimited classes $325.00 per month.Drop-in class $15.00 per 45/60/75/90 minute class.REGISTRATION FEESAn annual registration fee of $25.00 will be charged upon initial enrollment or at the beginning of the new season each August. If a student drops during the season, an additional $25.00 registration fee will be required and the student will need to re-register.LATE FEES/ RETURNED CHECKSTuition not paid by the 5th of the month will be subject to a late charge of $20.00. Students will not be permitted to participate in class if tuition is not received by this time. The studio reserves the right to drop a student from their class(es) after the 10th of the month for non-payment. There will be a charge of $30.00, plus any late fee incurred, for all returned checks.TUITION IS DUE BY THE 5TH OF THE MONTH.ATTENDANCE/ TARDINESSAttendance will be taken at the front desk upon arrival so that accurate rolls may be maintained. Please have your student check in at the front desk upon arrival. We encourage consistent attendance in class as each technique level builds on the one before. Students can fall behind in their classes quickly. Please be sure students arrive a few minutes before class to allow time to dress for class, sign in and be in class on time. The first minutes of class warm-up are essential to avoid injury and soreness. Latecomers are a distraction to the other students.MAKE-UP CLASSESMake-up classes are on a space available basis and must be completed with one month of the missed class. The make-up does not have to be taken in the same type of class, although the level and age group must be appropriate. Make-ups may not be taken in classes that are full.STUDENT DROP OFF AND PICK UPStudents should not be dropped off too early and should be picked up on time. Students should not be running around unsupervised. If your child is in the last class of the evening, it is imperative that they are picked up promptly.TVCD OBSERVATIONIn order to maximize technique instruction and to lessen distractions, classes may be observed only during the last class of the month. Classes in studios 1 and 2 will be available for observation through the observation windows each week.CLASS SIZE AND ADVANCEMENTClass size is limited to provide optimal instruction and attention for each student. New classes will be started to accommodate overflow and waiting lists, as needed. Students will be evaluated by their teachers on an on-going basis and advanced according to level and progress. New students with more than one year of dance experience must be evaluated at our weekly evaluation time.CONTACTING INSTRUCTORSFor parents with concerns or questions for instructors, a message may be left for Cathy at the Front Desk with the question. DO NOT STOP THE INSTRUCTOR in the hall or talk with them in their studios. TVCD Instructors do not have breaks and need to start their next class on time.TVCD RECITALA recital is held each summer to give students an opportunity to perform on stage. Participation is not mandatory, but is recommended. A recital fee will be collected by the end of February for all students participating in the recital. An in-studio show is held in December.COMPETITION TEAMSEach summer auditions are held for CompetitionTeams. Teams consist of dancers according to age level and style of dance. They require a commitment of time, effort and financial resources.TVCD PARKINGThere is limited parking in front of the studio. Please be considerate of our neighbors by leaving parking spaces available in front of their businesses for their customers. Parking is available in the south side of the building, as well as on the street.TVCD'S SIBLINGSAs in any public place, siblings and small children should be with you at all times. In some cases, we see the potential for children to get hurt. Because we are a child-friendly environment, some parents tend to let little ones wander. Please remember that TVCD Performing Arts is a business and needs to be run as such.TVCD VACATIONSWe do not pro-rate for vacations, holidays or other studio closings. No additional charges will be made to students for months with 5 weeks of classes.TVCD BACK ROOMThe back lobby is for parent-supervised students with more than one class in a row. It is a quiet zone for homework to be done or a between-class snack. Students must use quiet voices. There should be no dancing, jumping and running around. Students MUST clean up after themselves.
